Overview

BlueScope Coated Products is one of the largest coil coating companies in the United States, specializing in painted metal coils and toll processing services. The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for performing emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of plant mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Respond to the needs of the production supervisor during emergency breakdowns.
  • Utilize manpower and equipment effectively to complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Cleanup maintenance and work areas where repairs are performed.
  • Ensure safe and prudent use of company equipment and tools.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and inform management when replenishment is needed.
  • Utilize the Work Order system for entering and completing work orders.
  • Report to the Maintenance Manager or Production Supervisor during off-shifts and weekends.
  • Comply with the Quality and Environmental Management System principles.
  • Communicate daily with internal personnel from Production and Quality Control.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Technology Diploma, Trade Certification or a minimum of five years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic and/or Electrician.
  • PLC and basic drives experience.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Proficient communication skills, especially in explaining complex electrical issues.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work.
