Overview

The Welder (3rd) position at Universal Orlando involves advanced welding operations, including structural and cosmetic repairs on various materials. The role supports maintenance for rides and shows, requiring expertise in TIG welding and the ability to work in confined spaces and high positions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform weld repairs on existing ride-related equipment and structures as per Engineering direction and approved procedures.
  • Fabricate new parts or structures and repair broken structures based on conceptual drawings or manufacturing prints to meet QC standards.
  • Perform modifications to ride vehicles as directed by the Universal Engineering Department.
  • Gather necessary information, tools, and equipment to perform assigned tasks and inform Lead or Supervisor of needed materials.
  • Assist with repairs for Utilities, Facilities, Food equipment, and other department support.
  • Provide work documentation in Maximo Labor Reporting, Log Book entries, and complete work orders.
  • Perform general mechanical work while supporting the maintenance team in the assembly of weld repaired items.
  • Maintain all related welding equipment as needed.
  • Actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED is required.
  • Technical school is preferred.
  • Associate’s degree (AA) is preferred.
  • 5+ years of required welding experience and company certification equal to 6G or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to obtain company certificates in Stick, Mig, and Tig on various materials up to 6G within 90 days of employment.

What you'll be running
