Overview

SPX Technologies, through its affiliate WM Technologies, LLC, is seeking a Welder who will perform various welding operations, including TIG, and work with different materials. The company focuses on building innovative solutions for a safer and more efficient world.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ordinary and repetitive hand welding operations.
  • Maintain mechanical strength on standardized assemblies and products.
  • Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, or guides.
  • Operate welding equipment and regulate current and voltage for proper fusion of metals.
  • Select size and type of rod or wire appropriate for metal and welding application.
  • Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material using appropriate welding techniques.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
  • Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness.
  • Train other associates.
  • Troubleshoot detailed issues.
  • Fabricate prototype parts.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience.
  • May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.
  • Strong math skills including decimals and fractions.
  • Advanced knowledge of tooling setup.
  • Advanced computer knowledge.
  • Certified to drive a forklift.
  • Advanced blueprint reading and mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to set up any welder for any part.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy and advanced electrical and welding skills.
