Overview

The Maintenance Technician position at Vantage involves providing repair and maintenance support in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation areas at the Chicago Oleo Plant. The role requires performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting equipment issues to ensure smooth production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of plant-wide equipment during production.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Conduct mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of plant-wide equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance and service.
  • Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment as directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on various equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools for routine equipment maintenance functions.
  • Use powered man lifts and scissor lifts to access equipment safely.
  • Transport and lift equipment using forklift trucks and other specialist equipment.
  • Certify plant instruments following established ISO guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/instrumentation problems, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs.
  • Install new equipment as required.
  • Maintain and upgrade plant facilities as needed.
  • Complete record keeping documentation such as work orders and safety permits.
  • Report any food safety and quality-related issues to management immediately.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field or 3-5 years of applicable maintenance experience in a manufacturing process plant environment, preferably Chemical or Petro Chemical.
  • Ability to pass third party trade tests as required.
