Overview

We are looking for a Machinist at our facility by the Mesa Gateway Airport to support heavy mining equipment. Komatsu is a world leader in manufacturing construction, mining, forestry, and industrial heavy equipment, committed to quality, reliability, innovation, and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Polishing and grinding.
  • Boring and milling.
  • Set up and operate large vertical turret lathes.
  • Set up and operate large radial drill.
  • Set up and operate manual milling machines.
  • Set up and operate portable line boring bar equipment.
  • Set up and operate surface grinders and polisher.
  • Perform safety inspection of all shop equipment prior to operations.
  • Keeps track of jobs as they are assigned.
  • Fills out work scope reports documenting all measurements prior and after machine work.
  • Keeps a safe and clean work environment.
  • Weld components, parts and any other items needed in the repair of various components.
  • Tig, Mig, Stick, Sub-arc welding as required.

Requirements

  • Must be trained in the operational process of manual lathe.
  • Good understanding of the repair of large components.
  • Working knowledge of different types of metals, their uses and repair procedures.
  • Must be proficient in use of a Micrometer and measuring precisely with calipers.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Basic shop math.

  • Onsite position.
  • Work hours are currently Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, which could shift to a Tuesday - Friday shift at a later date.
