Overview

As a Senior Estimator at GrayWolf, you will produce accurate, detail-oriented estimates on complex projects through collaboration with various disciplines. The role involves preparing estimates that can be interpreted and executed by the Pre-Construction team.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze blueprints and project specifications to prepare estimates.
• Prepare accurate estimates on new projects and for change orders on existing contracts.
• Estimate steel materials, shop labor, field erection, and equipment costs for thorough bid estimates.
• Collaborate with project team members to ensure specifications are met in fabrication and erection.
• Communicate potential risks and conditions that may impact project costs to management.
• Read and interpret job bid instructions and prepare detailed material take-offs.
• Discuss alternative recommendations on projects as required by management.
• Work with Sales and Pre-construction Teams to understand project size, scope, and deadlines.
• Adhere to GWICC estimating guidelines and procedures.
• Type up estimates in the in-house computer program and enter relevant data.
• Interact professionally with key team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with structural drawing or drafting coursework.
• Five or more years of experience estimating structural and miscellaneous steel construction projects.
• Proven experience as a construction or steel estimator.
• Thorough knowledge of construction terminology and estimating software.
• Basic understanding of job cost accounting and project management concepts.
• Great attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Additional Information

• Work is generally performed in a climate-controlled office area.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods throughout an 8-10 hour day.
• Working long days, evenings, and weekends may be required.
