Overview

The Project Engineer will work closely with contractors, vendors, land/ROW, engineering firms, and construction groups to take capital projects from scope definition through commissioning. Projects will include gas meter stations, pipelines, compressor stations, and processing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project scope, design packages, and cost estimates for capital projects.
  • Build and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones from design through commissioning.
  • Manage procurement of long-lead equipment and materials.
  • Work with land/ROW to secure necessary rights of way, easements, and permits for new construction.
  • Work with EHS&R group for required project permits.
  • Manage relationships with EPC contractors and support the bid/award process.
  • Manage construction activities to ensure execution quality, budget, and schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate commissioning and startup activities, ensuring smooth handoff to Operations.
  • Track project budgets and manage change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide support for PSSR, PSM, and PHA workflows on capital projects.
  • Ensure projects meet applicable regulatory, permitting, HSE, and internal engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in capital project execution within midstream, upstream, or downstream oil & gas.
  • Exposure to design engineering and/or construction management for gas meter stations, pipelines, compressor stations, and processing facilities.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors and managing multi-discipline project teams.
  • Familiarity with cost estimating, scheduling tools, and project controls.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent project phases.
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations applicable to the midstream industry (API, ASME B31.3/4/8 and VIII, DOT 192/5, NFPA, NACE, Texas RRC requirements, etc.).
  • PE license a plus, not required.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites, customer offices, and vendor locations throughout design, construction, and commissioning phases.
