Overview

The Staff Pipeline Engineer will work on project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments across a variety of pipeline projects, including transmission and distribution pipelines. This role involves collaborating with the project team throughout the design and construction process while adapting pipeline plans according to budget constraints and client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipeline design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for various pipeline projects.
  • Design pipeline components based on project needs and requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of pipeline engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
  • Compile studies and reports, write specifications, and assess feasibility of proposed applications.
  • Update drawings provided by senior engineers using CAD-related software.
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program, and 3 years of pipeline engineering experience required, consulting preferred.
  • Or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology or related degree from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of pipeline engineering experience required, consulting preferred.
  • Or Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering and 2 years of pipeline engineering experience required, consulting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard pipeline engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong computer skills, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ATF.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
