Overview

The AES Group is a premier technology and engineering consulting company seeking an experienced Structural Designer to support the Design & Drafting Group in developing comprehensive packaged equipment designs and production-level drawings. The role involves interpreting customer requirements and engineering specifications to create structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls sub-assemblies for packaged equipment systems.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets piping and instrument diagrams, site layouts, and equipment layouts.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with other designers and departments.
  • Maintains drafting production schedule for different types of drawings ensuring accuracy of deliverables.
  • Creates 3D models and layouts including mating surfaces and assemblies.
  • Produces layouts and section views with BOMs, callouts, and dimensions.
  • Reviews scope documents and specifications for verification of design against design intent.
  • Demonstrates ability to execute designs on basic projects.
  • Conducts model reviews per department processes with assistance.
  • Supports the desired culture and work environment of the department.
  • Executes the design process per department processes.

Requirements

  • Experience designing in Revit (pipe routing, skids, weldments).
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Microsoft Office Suites, Google Docs.
  • Capable of producing package/plant designs and layouts.
  • Mechanical, structural, electrical, and controls design experience.
  • Awareness of codes applicable to TAS equipment including NEC, IEC, ASME, AISC, AWS, UMC, OSHA, and building codes.
  • Capable of performing most design and SolidWorks modeling tasks under direction or supervision.
