Overview

Stoughton Trailers is a trusted, industry-leading manufacturer with strong Wisconsin roots and a commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence. The MIG Welder position involves operating various tools and performing welding tasks to contribute to the production of quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all types of tools necessary for welding, including wire feed welder and plasma cutter.
  • Weld in all positions such as Flat, Horizontal, Vertical down and Overhead.
  • Set up various parts and assemblies for welding.
  • Set machines up for carbon and stainless steel of various gauges.
  • Place and move blocking, braces, and jigs to hold parts.
  • Align parts using wedges, turnbuckles, and pry bars.
  • Grind or chip rough edges, surplus weld, or scale.
  • Operate overhead cranes, hoists, and other lifting devices.
  • Perform measurement and quality checks and record findings.
  • Operate robotic weld equipment.
  • Perform all assigned tasks safely and efficiently according to company policy.
  • Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
  • Maintain good attendance and ability to work mandatory overtime.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent based on education and work experience.
  • Preferred Welder Certification.
  • Ability to accurately read and use gauges and tape measures.
  • Knowledge of welding practices and setting up weld machines.
  • Knowledge of weld defect identification and repair.
  • Must successfully pass written and hands-on weld tests.
  • Must successfully pass pulmonary function tests.

Additional Information

  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday from 5:30 AM-4:00 PM, Monday-Thursday from 4:30 PM-3:00 AM, Friday-Sunday from 5:00 AM-5:00 PM.
  • Shift: 1st, 2nd, & Weekend.
  • Overtime: Required as business needs.
