Overview

You will serve as a PIPEFITTER (NUCLEAR) in the Nuclear Production Department at the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department Guam, Detachment Guam of Pearl Harbor NSY and IMF, focusing on the fabrication and maintenance of piping systems for submarines.

Responsibilities

  • Remove, install, align, repair, and test a variety of submarine and surface craft piping and components.
  • Install, modify, and repair systems by setting up system routes and placing and cutting route openings.
  • Make necessary templates, jigs, and other fixtures required for repair or installation utilizing knowledge of materials and their versatility.
  • Determine pipe, joint, and valve sizes needed to support pressures of systems, aligning pipes, valves, fittings, and joints for accurate match.
  • Apply standard formulas, shop mathematics, trade theories, and industry practices in calculating needed materials and problem solving.
  • Utilize blueprints and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operations of various piping systems and equipment.
