Overview

Taurus Industrial Group is a leading technical services company based in Houston, offering diverse services across multiple industries. The Combination Welder will perform skilled welding and fabrication on industrial piping and equipment in support of various projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and fabrication activities on industrial piping and structural components.
  • Weld using SMAW/Stick and GTAW/TIG processes in required positions.
  • Read and interpret piping isometrics, construction drawings, and welding specifications.
  • Prepare welding joints by cleaning, grinding, and aligning materials.
  • Set up and operate welding machines and fabrication equipment safely.
  • Monitor weld quality and report any defects or quality issues.
  • Assist pipefitters with piping layout and installation activities.
  • Follow safety procedures and participate in safety training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum four years of relevant industrial welding experience preferred.
  • Experience welding industrial piping in heavy industrial environments.
  • Must complete applicable weld tests and maintain required qualifications.
  • Proficiency with SMAW/Stick and GTAW/TIG welding processes.
  • Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and chrome/alloy materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents related to welding.
  • Valid TWIC and driver's license required.

Additional Information

  • Work is primarily performed at active industrial construction and maintenance facilities.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions and industrial hazards.
