Job Summary

QLM Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Orbital Welders for a commercial/industrial project in Taylor, TX. Qualified candidates should have hands-on experience operating Orbitalum or Axair orbital welding equipment and be comfortable working in an active construction environment.

Pay Range

$40 per hr

Job Responsibilities

• Operate Orbitalum or Axair orbital welding machines

• Perform high-quality orbital welds according to project specifications

• Work safely in areas requiring elevated/working-at-heights activities

• Follow all site safety, quality, and onboarding requirements

• Complete required badging and site access procedures

• Demonstrate proficiency during the project’s orbital welding gate test

• Maintain a safe and organized work area

Required Qualifications

• Previous orbital welding experience is required

• Experience operating an Orbitalum or Axair orbital welding machine

• Ability to work at heights

• Ability to pass required site onboarding and badging requirements

• Ability to successfully demonstrate orbital welding skills

• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance

• Must be willing to complete site-specific testing and training

Onboarding & Gate Test Process Candidates will NOT be expected to test immediately upon arrival.

The project understands that welders need time to become familiar with the equipment and jobsite.

After completing the required badging/onboarding process, welders will have approximately a couple of days to become familiar with the equipment before completing the gate test.

Candidates will have the opportunity to perform approximately 3–4 practice welds before testing so they can get comfortable with the machine and work environment.

Successful welders may also have the opportunity to receive additional Orbitalum and Axair machine training/certification.

What We’re Looking For The immediate priority is finding qualified, experienced orbital welders who can:

• Successfully complete the onboarding and badging process

• Demonstrate previous orbital welding experience

• Become comfortable with the equipment

• Pass the required gate test

• Safely and consistently perform the required work

Compensation $40.00/hour + $120/day per diem
