Overview

Aerobraze, a division of Wall Colmonoy, manufactures turbine engine components and is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a welder, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the company and contribute to its success.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and join metal parts in an aerospace environment using Tig/Mig welding techniques.
  • Create quality welds according to provided routers.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used safely with all safety devices in use.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment that affects quality, productivity, or safety.
  • Inspect and identify weld imperfections.
  • Identify weld wire and electrode identifiers.
  • Read, evaluate, and respond to product specifications and drawings.
  • Adhere to standards and procedures regarding traceability.
  • Read and understand instructions for quality and safety.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • 1-year professional work experience and/or training.
  • Proficiency in understanding and recognizing weld symbols with basic understanding of welding terminology.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • AWS D17.1 qualified on one or two basic materials (e.g., stainless or aluminum).
  • Can perform tack welds and basic fusion welds under supervision.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
