Overview

U.S. Screen Co. is a family-owned manufacturer and distributor of custom stainless steel screen products for process industries. The Welder role involves fabricating, assembling, and repairing custom screen products using various welding processes while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair custom screen products using various welding processes.
  • Set up welding equipment and prepare materials for welding.
  • Perform accurate welds on stainless steel and other metals.
  • Inspect finished work for quality and structural integrity.
  • Conduct basic cutting and grinding tasks.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering team members.
  • Follow workplace safety and cleanliness guidelines.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.

Requirements

  • Strong core welding skills, including Welding and Arc Welding for industrial fabrication.
  • Process-specific welding skills such as TIG Welding and MIG Welding.
  • Knowledge of materials, particularly metals used in industrial screen products.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or vocational training is preferred.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
