Overview

Enprotech Industrial Technologies is the largest supplier of repair, rebuilding, and field services for the metal forming and steel industry in North America. They are looking for a Welder to join their team, emphasizing a safe and inclusive work environment and a commitment to core values.

Responsibilities

  • Welds metal parts together using gas welding or brazing and various arc welding processes.
  • Performs thermal cutting and grinding.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.
  • Locates cracks using die penetrant NDT methods and repairs cracks in large fabrications.
  • Positions and sets up components for weld repairs and fabrication.
  • Lays out parts and assemblies according to specifications.
  • Creates templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
  • Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions and adjusts settings for optimal weld deposit.
  • Inspects assembly aspects to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Pre-heats parts for effective welding.
  • Performs quality work checks to ensure products meet quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years’ experience with stick, TIG, and MIG welding in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with welding gases and their appropriate uses.
  • Proficiency with typical shop equipment and power tools.
  • Ability to inspect welded joints and assembly aspects for conformance.
  • Must be proficient in using and adjusting MIG welders.
  • Ability to handle moderate physical exertion and work in confined areas.
  • Must be able to wear a positive-pressure welding hood when required.
  • Must provide own welder’s tools and equipment.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
