Overview

A rapidly growing Solar Utility EPC with manufacturing sites all over Houston is hiring a Welding/Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations at its Houston facility. This role involves improving weld quality and productivity while working directly with the welding team.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations at the Houston facility.
  • Develop and implement welding processes, procedures, and quality controls.
  • Work directly on the manufacturing floor with welders to improve quality.
  • Investigate weld defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions.
  • Train welders on proper procedures and techniques.
  • Evaluate new welding equipment and technologies.
  • Participate in continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on welding/manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience developing or implementing welding procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and training skills.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Additional Information

  • Position can be contract-to-hire or full-time.
  • Remote work is possible.
  • Travel to Houston approximately 50% of the time.
