Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic position involves providing maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and the team. Candidates should possess knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing various plant and house equipment, with a strong emphasis on mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plant and house equipment.
  • Assist in educating and developing maintenance employees.
  • Monitor and maintain plant utilities and systems.
  • Work with outside contractors for repairs and scheduled maintenance.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance using CMMS software.
  • Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Follow safety policies and practices.

Requirements

  • Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred, or High School Diploma with sufficient experience.
  • At least 5 years of maintenance background.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, Mpulse is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical experience with packaging and production equipment.
  • Familiarity with welding and safe usage of tools and shop equipment.
  • Experience with PM programs using CMMS software.
  • Ability to walk, sit, climb, and lift for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with refrigeration and HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Must have own toolbox and basic hand tools.

Additional Information

  • Full-time position, 2nd shift (Monday-Saturday).
  • 8-12 hour shifts as needed.
  • Must be willing to work Saturdays and on rare occasions Sundays.
