Overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician at Southwest Airlines is responsible for inspecting and repairing aircraft during overnight hours, ensuring they are ready for flights. The position emphasizes hands-on work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the safety and efficiency of flight operations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and repair planes during overnight hours.
  • Check systems and fix issues to ensure aircraft readiness.
  • Work closely with Technical Operations and Airport Teams.
  • Perform all recognized Mechanic's work in airline operations.
  • Meet physical ability requirements.
  • Complete other job duties as directed by leaders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of Aircraft Maintenance Experience, including 1 year of Heavy Jet Aircraft Maintenance Experience.
  • Must meet recency of experience requirements of CFR 65.83.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
  • Valid Federal A&P Certificates required.
