At Vestis®, we provide uniforms, workplace supplies, and professional cleaning that help businesses simplify their workday. The Industrial Laundry Mechanic Plant Maintenance role involves leading a team in an industrial laundry facility, ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains all plant equipment including high volume industrial washers and/or dryers.
  • Repairs and replaces equipment when necessary.
  • Performs basic plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work.
  • Troubleshoots and solves technical issues by following technical manuals and schematics.
  • Orders necessary parts, tools, and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a proper Daily Schedule Control for equipment maintenance.
  • Conducts daily removal and processing of waste solids generated from treatment process.
  • Performs equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and completes preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment and observes best practices.
  • Uses safety precautions and follows electrical lock-out tag-out procedures.
  • Assists the maintenance manager in assigning work tasks and ensuring quality control.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of mechanical experience required.
  • 1–3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • 1–3 years of electromechanical experience preferred.
  • 2–4 years of related experience in mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or installation.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and basic electrical aptitude.
  • Skills in welding, hand and power tools, and electrical motors.
  • Computer literate, familiarity with Internet-based software and MS Office.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial laundry equipment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.

  • Shift: Monday - Friday, 5am - 2pm
  • Location: MC#701 Chicago IL
  • Overtime may be required if needed.
