Overview

The Chemical Process Rebuild Technician performs tasks and provides technical and mechanical services to support the plant's production goals, including rebuilding, repairing, and troubleshooting chemical-process and production-support equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.
  • Receives, stores, and handles hazardous and non-hazardous materials, keeping accurate records.
  • Monitors and adjusts wastewater systems for EPA compliance.
  • Advises management of any violations of environmental procedures.
  • Performs troubleshooting on production and support equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on production and support equipment.
  • Rebuilds, repairs, installs, and troubleshoots diaphragm pumps and chemical dosing pumps.
  • Performs piping installation, repair, modification, and maintenance.
  • Fabricates components to improve safety and functionality of work areas.
  • Conducts inspection of in-process materials and finished products.
  • Responsible for replenishing supplies and materials.
  • Performs record-keeping duties as required.
  • Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer.
  • Supplies and maintains required hand tools.
  • May perform various lab chemical functions.
  • Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or education equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years job-related experience required.
  • Preferred job-related experience of 8 years minimum.
  • Ability to apply standard evaluation and modification of chemical process techniques.
  • Must handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Must follow company policies and standards of conduct.
  • Maintains awareness of hazardous waste management requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of the operating principles of all assigned equipment.
  • May require forklift license.
  • Ability to identify product defects.
  • Ability to effectively train personnel.
  • Ability to operate and use a computer.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Must maintain professional competence and ethical integrity.

Compensation

  • Expected Hiring Rate: $39.79/hr.
