Overview

The Fabricator operates and sets up fabricating machines to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, and structures. MiTek is a platform innovator in the building industry, providing solutions to improve efficiencies in design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Setup various stamping and support equipment including cut-off presses, punch presses, break presses, and benders.
• Meet and/or exceed daily safety, quality, and production goals.
• Report all equipment malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors and assist in keeping the equipment operational.
• Operate bar code scanning computers and machine operator interface controls.
• Prepare product for shipment by lifting and stacking product onto conveyors and carts.
• Strive to keep product waste to a minimum; inspect finished products and record quality measurements.
• Attend work during the regularly scheduled shift and be ready for work at the start of the shift.
• Cut and fabricate sheet metal parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
• Document quality inspection into the data system.
• Perform quality control including measurement of tolerances and dimensions.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• One to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Some PC skills helpful, but not required.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues.
• Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
