Overview

The Tool Maker will operate various machines to build and repair custom tools, molds, and trim fixtures for manufacturing products, ensuring quality standards are met. RealTruck is a premier manufacturer of accessories for truck and off-road enthusiasts, headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Operate band saw, sanders, grinders, drills, lathes, milling, and boring machines.
  • Repair production tooling when necessary.
  • Sand, drill vacuum holes, and produce prototypes from plastic sheet.
  • Weld and fabricate using measuring tools.
  • Create trim out fixtures and jigs for production.
  • Build fixtures to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Sand and hand polish new molds/tooling.
  • Design progressive dies utilized in production from vehicle parts.
  • Design tooling frames and other structures for tooling.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Associate degree or related job experience is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience with small press machine.
  • CNC Programmer experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience required.
  • 3-5 years of related experience preferred.
  • Skilled in operating various machines.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Knowledge of chemicals needed to produce epoxy molds and trim fixtures.
