Overview

Airgas is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and is hiring for a Plant Maintenance Technician in Fairless Hills, PA. The role involves preserving and optimizing the facility and equipment used in compressing and liquefying gases while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, extracts, inspects, and optimizes bulk tanks, valves, and cryogenic pumps.
  • Operates and maintains equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders.
  • Regularly monitors and maintains pumping apparatus, tanks, valves, and associated monitoring devices.
  • Answers technical questions from internal or external customers.
  • Reports any accident or injury to management promptly.
  • Conducts periodic checks of the plant to foster safe and efficient operations.
  • Operates a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
  • Travels to customer sites to support equipment needs as required.
  • Optimizes equipment in the plant following blueprints and maintenance manuals.
  • Tests equipment to identify and resolve issues using standard test meters.
  • Disassembles equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Welds, brazes, burns, and solders parts with precision.
  • Adjusts and replaces pipes and equipment using pipefitting tools.
  • Optimizes instrument control panels, rectifiers, motors, switches, and other electrical equipment.
  • Repacks compressors and pumps.
  • Changes filtration materials as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Post-secondary education equivalent to a one-year technical college is an asset.
  • At least one year of knowledge and experience of arc and gas welding preferred.
  • Two years of industry experience preferred.
  • Competent in plumbing, carpentry, and masonry work.
  • Experience working with electrical circuits, motors, compressors, pumps, and drives in an industrial setting.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required.

Additional Information

  • $32/hr & Up DOE
  • M-F Days 4 ten hour days -- ON Call Required.
  • Benefits start after just 30 days of employment.
