Overview

Maola is a farmer-owned cooperative dedicated to providing fresh, high-quality dairy products while investing in its people and communities. The Second Class Mechanic PA role involves maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure continuous operation in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair equipment to sustain continuous operation.
  • Understand functionality of equipment and analyze trouble areas.
  • Complete basic repairs to pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyance systems.
  • Adjust and repair solenoid switches, hydraulic cylinders, gear boxes, and pumps.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and use electrical testing equipment.
  • Make electrical repairs to electric driven machinery and micro switches.
  • Perform general maintenance duties related to plant equipment and building.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to steam generation and boiler operations.
  • Use hand tools and equipment to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
  • Complete assigned work orders and housekeeping duties by required due dates.
  • Communicate conditions that prevent manufacturing to Maintenance or Plant Manager.
  • Perform necessary repairs or preventative maintenance on industrial and refrigeration equipment.
  • Complete troubleshooting using plant test equipment and welding.
  • Rebuild pumps and gear boxes.
  • Run conduit, wire controls, and have basic knowledge of PLCs.
  • Perform any and all duties as directed by Supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma with higher education or certification required.
  • At least 5 years of maintenance experience in dairy or a comparable industry preferred.

Additional Information

  • Work Shift: Friday - Tuesday
  • Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM with willingness to work overtime, extra days, and holidays.
  • Pay Rate: $35.72/hour
