Overview

This position offers an exciting opportunity with a rapidly growing pharmaceutical manufacturer, focusing on the installation and maintenance of piping and plumbing systems under the supervision of Maintenance and Utilities management.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain all piping and plumbing in the facility.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment or facilities that their skills support.
  • Work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, and CMMS driven work orders.
  • Install, lay out, bend, cut, thread, and join pipes and fittings.
  • Handle and install pipes of various materials including stainless steel, PVC, and copper.
  • Cut access holes to install pipe through floors and walls.
  • Fabricate and fit pipe hangers and supports to walls and ceilings.
  • Visually inspect pressure and vacuum gauges and recommend repairs.
  • Maintain restroom facilities and washroom fixtures.
  • Install temporary insulation upon completion of repairs.
  • Test equipment and piping for pressure and leaks.
  • Participate in HAZOPS, waste walkthroughs, and other training initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing labor and material estimates.
  • Make recommendations for spare parts and additional stock items.
  • Consult with supervision and other mechanics on problem resolution.
  • Write, execute, and complete safety permits.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
  • Completion of a formal pipefitter/plumber apprentice program or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a recognized pipefitter/plumber trade school.
  • Three years of recent full-time experience as a journeyman pipefitter/plumber.
  • Completion of four years of on-the-job training as part of a formal pipefitter/plumber apprentice program.
  • Three years recent full-time military experience as a pipefitter/plumber.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings, sketches.

Additional Information

  • Position is subject to a probationary period.
  • Required to take immunizations as prescribed by the Company's Health Services Department.
  • Must wear Company issued uniform per the Company's SOP.
