Overview

Hilton Mechanical Contractors builds liquid cooling infrastructure for hyperscale and colocation data centers. They are hiring a Certified Welding Inspector to ensure weld quality across their carbon steel and stainless pipe fabrication shops.

Responsibilities

  • Run the welder qualification program including WPS/PQR development, performance testing, and continuity tracking.
  • Perform visual inspection of carbon and stainless pipe welds using GTAW, orbital GTAW, and GMAW/FCAW.
  • Coordinate third-party NDE and review results.
  • Maintain weld maps, MTRs, material traceability, inspection reports, and turnover packages.
  • Enforce ASME B31.1/B31.3/B31.9 and AWS D1.1 compliance.
  • Conduct final inspection of pipe spools and skids before shipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective action on rejects.
  • Occasionally travel to job sites.

Requirements

  • Current AWS CWI certification.
  • Experience inspecting carbon and stainless pipe welding, with fab shop experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Section IX and B31 piping codes.
  • Experience writing and qualifying WPSs.
  • Ability to read isometrics and fabrication drawings.
