Overview

The Welder position involves preparing surfaces for welding, cutting, grinding, and welding steel components to blueprint specifications. The role requires experience with TIG and MIG welding and the ability to work with various welding equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares surfaces to be welded and fits parts.
  • Welds piping and manifolds according to specifications.
  • Cuts, grinds, drills holes, and welds steel to blueprint specifications.
  • May use plasma cutter to cut I-beams and steel plates.
  • Tack welds scrap metal to outline to provide jig for assembly.
  • Positions parts in jig and files, chisels, and grinds parts as indicated.
  • Anneals parts with acetylene torch to remove stresses of welding.
  • Follows blueprints and product specifications to bend, shape, and fabricate manifold tubing system.
  • Cuts, cleans, and purges tubes, valves, and manifolds, aligning and securing them for welding.
  • Aligns Orbital welder for 'weld in place' fastening of valves and bull plugs into tube bushing manifold.
  • Welds valves and hardware into tube bushing manifold of new and used chassis, truck trailer, and ISO skid parts.

Requirements

  • Requires 2-4 years of TIG or MIG welding experience.
  • Must be able to weld carbon steel structural shapes and skid frames and chassis.
  • Must be able to weld from all angles and positions.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Need to be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to stoop, crouch, bend, climb, and kneel.

What you'll be running
