Overview

The Repair Specialist II position in Pearland, Texas involves creating and improving repair processes for equipment overhauls, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and providing technical support to craft labor in the manufacturing and overhaul processes.

Responsibilities

• Foster an environment of teamwork, compliance, and continual improvement.
• Adhere to the Company's objectives, including Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Information Security.
• Ensure compliance with departmental standard procedures.
• Act as a first line source of information and technical support to craft labor for manufacturing and overhaul process issues.
• Interpret inspection results and provide inspection reports with recommended repairs.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes using knowledge of product design and materials.
• Create shop floor work packages with systematic instructions and relevant technical documents.
• Create in-process inspection forms when required.
• Enter Purchase Requisitions into SAP for necessary parts and materials.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow and equipment layout.
• Interface with Engineering, Quality, and Project Management during project life-cycles.
• Act as backup and support for other Repair Specialists when required.
• Monitor project progress and engage with personnel and vendors to enact next steps.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of applicable rotating equipment and/or repair shop experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong background in machining, manufacturing, overhaul/repair, and assembly of heavy-duty rotating equipment.
• Experience creating basic tooling drawings utilizing CAD software.
• Familiarity with API RP 687 (rotor repairs).
• Strong skills with MS Office and MS Project.
• Understanding of material recovery techniques for rotating equipment overhaul.
• Understanding of heat treatment required during manufacturing and refurbishment.
• Ability to define measurement techniques including setup and tooling selection.
• Understanding of appropriate non-destructive testing methods.
• Familiarity with pressure testing and associated risk-mitigation strategies.
