Overview

The Field Solutions Specialist role focuses on providing technical support for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in utility-scale projects, requiring hands-on troubleshooting and leadership in field environments. Candidates should have a strong background in BESS and related technical fields.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical field support for utility-scale BESS projects
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues
  • Lead and coordinate technicians, contractors, and field crews
  • Investigate and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and quality issues
  • Support field inspections, equipment evaluations, corrective actions, and remediation
  • Work with engineering, commissioning, quality, construction, and project management teams
  • Support and understand Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) processes
  • Follow and execute work according to SOPs, project specifications, and safety requirements
  • Develop field reports, work instructions, corrective-action documentation, and other technical records
  • Identify recurring field issues and provide feedback to engineering and operations teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in BESS, energy storage, power generation, renewable energy, electrical systems, industrial equipment, field service, commissioning, construction, or a related technical environment
  • Strong working knowledge of BESS technology
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with NCRs, corrective actions, quality issues, or field remediation
  • Experience leading field technicians, contractors, or multidisciplinary crews
  • Understanding of FAT and SOPs
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills
  • Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership in field environments
  • Willingness to travel 25%–50%
