Overview

Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy, currently experiencing unprecedented growth. They are seeking individuals who want to learn and grow within their Welding Department as they build advanced submarines.

Responsibilities

  • Weld structural assemblies using GMAW and SMAW during submarine construction.
  • Use pneumatic tools such as grinders, burr tools, and wire brushes.
  • Perform oxy/fuel pre-heat and carbon/arc gouging, verifying weld size with gauges.
  • Read and interpret weld symbols, technique sheets, and work packages.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or 2+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant welding experience.
  • Ability to work all shifts and in all environments, including radiological areas.
  • Ability to interpret welding and shipyard procedures, structural drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Willingness to accept road job assignments.
  • Possession of basic hand tools.
