Overview

Modine is a global company with over 100 years of experience in thermal management solutions, dedicated to engineering a cleaner, healthier world. The Welder position involves joining materials through various welding techniques while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Join tubing, sheet metal, and studs using brazing, welding, or soldering.
  • Interact with others and be self-motivated to maximize production.
  • Read and understand blueprints.
  • Operate and read all measuring devices.
  • Organize and set up work.
  • Stand constantly, walk occasionally, bend frequently, squat occasionally, and reach forward frequently.
  • Maintain good safety habits and wear required safety equipment.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. or more with assistance.
  • Perform other jobs in the cell as needed.

Requirements

  • 2 years welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to use MIG/TIG welders to join metal to close tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret complicated shop drawings.
  • Understanding of standardized welding symbols used on shop drawings.
  • Strong mechanical background and ability to use simple math with decimals and fractions.
  • Must wear safety protective equipment at all times.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
