Overview

RQ Construction is seeking a skilled Combination Pipe Welder to join their Mechanical team for ongoing work at Mayport Naval Base, Florida. The position involves welding and joining metal components using various techniques and requires passing qualification tests.

Responsibilities

  • Use hand-welding, flame cutting, hand soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components.
  • Pass groove-weld qualification tests in all positions for multiple materials and processes.
  • Perform work in accordance with relevant codes on an active construction site.
  • Implement required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, supplemented by completion of an apprenticeship program.
  • 5 to 8 years of field or trade work experience as a Combination Welder in a commercial or facilities operations setting.
  • Ability to pass 6G GTAW & SMAW test before being hired.
  • CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour Certifications required.
