Overview

Insight Global is seeking an Engineer II to join a large utility company in Houston, Texas. The Engineer II will apply engineering principles to manage natural gas distribution system projects, ensuring safe and reliable operations.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles to design, analyze, and manage natural gas distribution system projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations, pressure and load analyses, and cathodic protection studies.
  • Develop engineering drawings and technical specifications for construction projects.
  • Manage projects from planning through field installation, coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • Prepare project estimates, budgets, and economic justifications.
  • Review construction costs and completed work for adherence to project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot system performance issues.
  • Support continuous improvements to distribution system reliability and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2+ years of utility engineering, gas distribution design, pipeline design, or utility construction experience.
  • Experience performing engineering calculations, pressure studies, load analysis, and project cost estimates.
  • Strong project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
