Overview

The Journeyman Pipefitter Refrigeration is responsible for skilled pipefitting work related to the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems, supporting supermarket and commercial refrigeration operations. The role requires adherence to safety regulations and industry standards, and can involve independent work or collaboration within a union crew.

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, modify, and repair refrigeration piping systems, including carbon steel, copper, and specialty piping.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of refrigeration-related piping, valves, fittings, and supports.
  • Assist in system troubleshooting by identifying piping-related issues.
  • Perform leak detection, isolation, and corrective pipe repairs in accordance with EPA and safety requirements.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, isometrics, and piping diagrams.
  • Coordinate work with refrigeration technicians, electricians, and other trades.
  • Complete assigned service calls and maintenance work professionally.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation for all assigned work.
  • Comply with all company policies, jobsite procedures, and union work rules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and company vehicle or assigned tools.
  • Travel to various job sites as required.
  • Perform other related duties within the scope of the pipefitter trade as assigned.
