Overview

Project Engineers are responsible for supporting the technical execution of Hunting Subsea projects, including design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, and installation support throughout all phases of project development and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct design activities including brainstorming, calculations, system layouts, assembly design, component design, and drafting.
• Perform analysis activities using handbook calculations, engineering spreadsheets, and Finite Element Analysis to determine structural integrity and stability.
• Engage in testing activities during internal verification programs and monitor external laboratories.
• Provide manufacturing support by interfacing with internal and external shops to enhance product development and resolve non-conformances.
• Assist with installation, operation, repair, and decommissioning of products.
• Plan projects involving system layout, design verification, manufacturing support, documentation, reports, design reviews, and customer presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
• Advanced degree in Engineering, business, or other technical focus preferred.
• P.E. License preferred.
• Proficient with SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with linear and nonlinear structural FEA software is a plus.
• Experience with Abaqus/CAE preferred.
• Experience with other 3D CAD systems is a plus.
• Experience with deepwater riser systems or subsea hardware is a plus.
• Experience with an engineering/fabrication company in the oil & gas industry.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and with Adobe Acrobat.
• Familiar with calculation software such as MathCAD or MatLab.
• Experience with design of machined components and welded fabrications.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to organize tasks effectively.
• Creative, precise, and innovative in problem-solving.
• Ability to read blueprints and industry specifications.
• Machine shop, welding, and backgrounds in other manufacturing methods preferred.
• Familiar with Roark's and Peterson's Engineering Handbooks.
• Competent with free body diagrams, load path, stiffness, and deflection determinations.
• Experience with linear and nonlinear structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) preferred.
• Experience with structural, fatigue, and function testing preferred.
• Experience correlating test data to analysis math models is a plus.
• Experience with strain gauges, load cells, and data acquisition systems is a plus.
