Overview

CHAOS Industries is redefining modern defense with advanced sensing and detection solutions designed for military and commercial applications. The company seeks a Mechanical Engineer – Structures to lead the mechanical integration of ruggedized electronics and hardware into mobile platforms for aerospace and defense.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on prototyping and mechanical integration of mission systems into ground- and sea-mobile platforms.
  • Architect and design mechanical structures, frames, mounts, enclosures, and mechanisms subject to various constraints.
  • Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and interface control documentation to support system integration.
  • Perform structural and thermal analyses to ensure compliance with customer requirements and military standards.
  • Lead system-level integration, qualification, and acceptance activities.
  • Serve as a primary technical hardware interface with customers and partners.
  • Support production transition, configuration control, and fielded system sustainment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 0-3 years of experience in platform-level mechanical design and system integration for aerospace and defense.
  • Proven experience integrating mechanical subsystems into vehicles or mobile platforms.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD tools for large assemblies and top-down design.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical interfaces, tolerancing, and installation practices.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis methods and ruggedized military hardware.
  • Experience interpreting military standards such as MIL-STD-810.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical decisions and resolve integration challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate in multi-project environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
