Overview

UTMC is a family-owned company and a leader in refrigerated semi-trailers, seeking a Temporary CAD Design intern for a part-time role aimed at undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year. This position involves working with SolidWorks to enhance CAD design skills over a 10-12 week period.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 3D parts, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks.
  • Help develop trailer assemblies and key sub-assemblies.
  • Configure and modify production designs using established options and design standards.
  • Work with various materials including steel, aluminum, wood, and plastics.
  • Collaborate with the production team in the design and processing of orders.

Requirements

  • Student currently in an engineering or technology program (associate or bachelor’s).
  • Working knowledge of CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
  • Attention to detail and a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Part-time position with 15-25 hours per week from January 11 to March 31, 2027.
  • Not eligible for health benefits but will accrue vacation, holiday pay, and sick leave.
