Job Description
Overview
This position is for a Structural Designer 3 in the Nuclear Power sector, offering a hybrid work schedule. The role involves working with multi-disciplined engineering teams to develop structural design drawings and solve various design issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop structural physical layout drawings in a 3-D model.
- Design structural supports and foundations, and troubleshoot structural design issues.
- Utilize 3D modeling software tools to generate structural design schematics.
- Coordinate detailed design phases for an integrated structural design model.
- Support other designers and project team members to ensure timely design completion.
- Plan and execute structural design deliverables independently and as part of a team.
- Assist senior designers and engineers in field walkdowns and data gathering.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced drafters and designers.
Requirements
- An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma with 1 or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
- Four or more years of detailed design experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design drawings.
- Proficiency with design software tools for 3D plant layout models.
- Experience in Open Building Designer.
- Experience reviewing structural layout drawings involving steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
- Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines.
