Overview
Join our dynamic fabrication team as a Welder - MIG 2nd Shift and bring your expertise in metal fabrication to life! This energetic role is perfect for skilled welders eager to contribute to high-quality projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up welding equipment and prepare materials according to project specifications using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints to determine welding requirements.
- Perform MIG welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding) with precision on sheet metal, pipe components, and fabricated assemblies following AWS standards.
- Use calipers, micrometers, shop math, and other measuring tools to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.
- Operate plasma cutters, power tools, and other fabrication machinery for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and handling materials responsibly.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving assembly, pipe threading, machining, soldering, and plasma cutting tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction site environments or fabrication shops with a strong understanding of metal materials and sheet metal fabrication.
- Skilled in MIG welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), TIG welding (GTAW), and stick welding techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams accurately.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices.
- Proficient in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements.
- Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes including pipe threading, machining, plasma cutting, soldering, and assembly.
- Experience with construction sites or similar environments is highly desirable.
- Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence and quality workmanship using hand tools and power tools effectively.
