Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw metal materials into precise, high-quality components and assemblies that meet exact specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements.
• Measure and mark metal materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and assemblies.
• Operate fabrication shop equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and pipe threading tools to shape sheet metal and other metal materials.
• Perform welding using various techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding in accordance with AWS standards.
• Use hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and machining tools to assemble fabricated parts with accuracy and safety adherence.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to all safety protocols.
• Inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Assist in the setup and operation of shop equipment for efficient fabrication processes.
• Support construction site activities by fabricating ductwork, structural components, or custom metal assemblies as needed.
• Follow ASME codes & standards for fabrication projects involving pipework or pressure vessels.

Requirements

• Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety protocols.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation for complex fabrication tasks.
• Skilled in multiple welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, with certification preferred according to AWS standards.
• Ability to operate rigging equipment, forklifts, machining tools, plasma cutters, press brakes, and other fabrication machinery safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including cutting, bending, forming, and assembly.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures along with basic shop math skills.
• Mechanical knowledge related to interpreting schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience working within a fabrication shop environment with adherence to safety protocols.
• Strong mechanical fabrication skills involving pipe threading or ductwork assembly.
• Ability to solder or perform minor repairs on metal components when necessary.

Additional Information

• Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
