Overview

The Pipefitter position involves installing and maintaining high-temperature water and high-pressure piping systems, utility supply and disposal systems, and related fixtures and equipment. This role is based at the new James Mountain Inhofe VA Medical Center in Tulsa.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair high-temperature water and high-pressure piping systems.
  • Modify and repair utility supply and disposal systems, fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
  • Install or replace old insulation removed during pipefitting or plumbing work.
  • Plan and lay out plumbing system equipment installations and modifications.
  • Interpret and apply building plans and blueprints.
  • Use and maintain tools, materials, and equipment safely.
  • Measure insulation dimensions and install insulating materials on pipes and valves.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of high-temperature water and high-pressure piping systems.
  • Skill in pipefitting and plumbing tools and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply building plans and blueprints.
  • Physical ability to perform light to moderately heavy physical effort.
  • Experience with plumbing trade methods and techniques.

Additional Information

  • Work Schedule: 12noon-8:30pm
  • Physical requirements include lifting, transporting, and working in awkward positions.
