Job Title: Fabricator / CNC Brake Press Operator Location: Alpharetta, Georgia

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: Starting at $20 / hour (plus benefits)

Shift: 1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role We are looking for a skilled and quality-focused Fabricator / Brake Press Operator to join our growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC press brakes, form custom sheet metal parts according to engineering blueprints, and assist with general metal fabrication.

Key Responsibilities • Machine Setup & Operation: Select proper punch and die tooling, adjust backgauges, load programs, and operate CNC press brakes (e.g., Amada, Trumpf, Cincinnati).

• Blueprint Reading: Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols to determine bend sequences and dimensions.

• Fabrication & Shop Operations: Perform layout, shearing, deburring, grinding, and basic fit-up as needed.

• Quality Inspection: Measure parts against specs using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and protractors to maintain tight tolerances.

• Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily machine maintenance, keep a clean workspace, and adhere to all shop safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements • Experience: 2+ years of experience operating press brakes in a sheet metal or structural fabrication environment.

• Technical Skills: Ability to read shop blueprints, calculate bend deductions/allowances, and select proper tooling.

• Tools & Measurement: Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, protractors, height gauges).

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk throughout the shift.

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent trade school certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

 Set up, operate, and shut down machinery in accordance with production specifications, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).  Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper performance and identify malfunctions, defects, or safety concerns.  Make authorized adjustments to machine settings to maintain quality standards and production efficiency.  Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting; report major issues to maintenance or supervision.  Conduct in-process and final quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications.  Accurately document production output, machine usage, downtime, and maintenance activities.  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.  Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.  Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.  Comply with all company policies, safety rules, and regulatory requirements.
