Location: Jeanerette, LA

Pay Rate: $45.00 – $48.00 per hour

Schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Welders: Build, Bond, and Bank Bucks

We are seeking experienced Steel Welders for a short-term production project. Support the fabrication and assembly of steel components used in marine vessel construction. This role is ideal for skilled welders who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are available to commit to the project’s demanding schedule. Job Duties

  • Perform welding on steel components and assemblies used in marine vessel construction.
  • Fit, align, tack, and weld steel parts according to specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare materials and surfaces for welding and fabrication.
  • Perform welds in various positions as required.
  • Read measurements and follow fabrication layouts and work instructions.
  • Inspect completed welds for quality, penetration, and workmanship.
  • Operate welding equipment, grinders, and related fabrication tools.
  • Follow established welding procedures and project specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all PPE, facility, and jobsite safety requirements.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Vocational training, welding certification, or technical education is beneficial.
  • Welding school, technical training, or equivalent hands-on welding experience preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Experience performing welding on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or other metals.
  • Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment setup, welding techniques, and safe operating procedures.
  • Ability to accurately measure, fit, and prepare materials prior to welding.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, structural welding, or production environments is preferred.
  • Previous shipyard or marine fabrication experience
  • Experience using grinders, saws, cutting equipment, and metal fabrication tools is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of weld inspection, blueprint interpretation, and quality control procedures is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate craftsmanship, dependability, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a Welder.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in welding positions throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift metal components, materials, and equipment weighing up to 12 pounds.
  • Ability to safely wear welding helmets, gloves, and required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to safely work around welding equipment, sparks, heat, and fabrication machinery while following established safety procedures.
  • Must be able to work around heat, sparks, fumes, noise, and other conditions typical of a welding and fabrication environment.

What You Will Do

As a Welder you will prepare materials, set up welding equipment, perform MIG welding operations, inspect completed welds, read blueprints, verify measurements, and help fabricate metal components according to engineering specifications. You will maintain welding equipment, follow quality standards, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations while producing consistent, high-quality work.
