Overview

Metalcraft Of Mayville is seeking welders for their air-conditioned shop in West Bend, offering positions on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. The company is busy and growing, providing competitive shift premiums for off shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Lift work pieces manually or using a hoist and secure them in fixtures.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machine factors.
  • Start the machine, engage the feed, and observe operation.
  • Inspect and measure machined work pieces for conformance to specifications.
  • Adjust machine controls and guides as necessary.
  • Unload welded frames from robotic welders and place them in containers.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts for welding.
  • Remove rough spots from work pieces using grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
  • Weld components in various positions.
  • Replace worn machine accessories as needed.
  • File, sand, or shape machined parts.
  • Maintain accurate counts of parts and label finished containers.
  • Perform basic MIG and TIG welding techniques.
  • Maintain company quality, efficiency, and productivity standards.
  • Read job specifications to determine welding and material requirements.
  • Use equipment and supplies in accordance with operational standards.
  • Examine finished work pieces for conformance using inspection instruments.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
  • May perform other related duties as production needs require.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • FANUC Robotic Certification is desired.
  • Certificate or degree in welding is preferred.
  • At least one year of welding experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment and tools.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents like blueprints and safety rules.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Dependability.

Additional Information

  • 1st Shift Hours: M-F, 5am-1:30pm or M-F, 6am-2pm.
  • 2nd Shift Hours: M-F, 2pm-10pm with a $2.50 shift premium.
  • 3rd Shift Hours: Sun-Thurs, 10pm-6am with a $5.00 shift premium.
  • Regularly exposed to varying temperature conditions and loud noise.
