Overview

The Container & Chassis Mechanic II position at Jacintoport International involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance on containers used for shipping distribution. The role offers long-term employment with opportunities for growth and excellent benefits from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Follow IICL guidelines to ensure structural integrity of intermodal equipment.
  • Perform systematic inspections and repairs on intermodal equipment including flat racks and containers.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections and repairs in the DST database or hand-held computer.
  • Perform repairs and restructures on intermodal equipment using hand and power tools, including Stick and MIG welding.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by organizing and removing safety hazards.
  • Safely operate a forklift.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years of industry-related experience repairing intermodal equipment.
  • Possess Advanced Stick and MIG welding experience.
  • Knowledge of proper container repair standards and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak basic English.
  • Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to think logically and follow procedures and instructions.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment.
