Overview

The Structural Mechanic 4 position at Gulfstream in Van Nuys involves performing various structural assembly operations on aircraft during the weekend day shift. The role emphasizes teamwork, quality standards, and employee development within a supportive company culture.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Use schematics and engineering drawings to safely layout, fabricate, and install parts on aircraft.
  • Rivet structural assemblies and parts using required tools.
  • Read work orders and blueprints to determine operational sequences and requirements.
  • Check all work for defects prior to final inspection.
  • Mentor and assist team members in interpreting blueprints and resolving production issues.
  • Maintain logs and records related to work performed.
  • Align and assemble parts for riveting using jigs and fixtures.
  • Make repairs as per Discrepant Material Tags and perform necessary rework.
  • Plan and organize workloads to meet goal hours and schedule expectations.
  • Support Lean Activities and comply with safety and housekeeping policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 years of related structural assembly experience.
  • Experience with Solumnia and Smarteam preferred.
  • Q-stamp preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Skilled in close tolerance work and use of special tools.
  • Ability to solve dimensional problems using mathematical formulas.
  • Thorough knowledge of multiple measuring devices.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in small spaces.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
