Overview

SMS group is seeking a Mechanically inclined Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to expand their skill sets in a culture of innovation, growth, and inclusion. The company is a leading partner in the world of metals, offering comprehensive maintenance and spare part services.

Responsibilities

  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
  • Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and fabricate parts.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions using testing devices.
  • Repair, install, adjust or maintain industrial production and processing machinery.
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Record parts or materials used and order new parts or materials as necessary.
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Study blueprints or manufacturers manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.

Requirements

  • Mechanical and Electrical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Previous maintenance mechanic experience.

Additional Info

  • Work schedule is Monday - Friday 6am to 4pm with 1 weekend a month.
