Overview

Capitol Engineering is an established and expanding custom fabrication company delivering high quality engineered & fabricated steel products to a wide variety of industries including mining, agriculture, and general industrial applications. They are currently looking to add multiple welders & fitters to their team.

Responsibilities

  • Welders and fitters across structural, pipe, and tank specialties.
  • Read and weld to a Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).
  • Pass Capitol's hands-on weld test for placement.
  • Take the 6G qualification test within the first 90 days.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of structural steel fabrication experience for structural track.
  • 6G GTAW (TIG) on pipe for pipe track.
  • 3-5+ years of welding experience in tank, plate or heavy fabrication for tank track.
  • Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, piping isometrics and AWS weld symbols.
  • Comfortable with grinders, torches, a tape and a square.
  • Own hood and basic hand tools; required PPE worn at all times.
  • Valid government-issued ID and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Additional Information

  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
  • Lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
  • Stand for long periods; kneel, crouch and climb ladders.
  • Work inside tanks and other tight or confined spaces.
  • Shop conditions include heat, noise, welding fumes, and sparks.
  • PPE includes FR clothing, safety-toe boots, eye/face protection, hearing protection and gloves.
  • Overtime as projects require.
