Overview

Insight Global is seeking Prototype Engineering Test Technicians to join a large public safety client in North Scottsdale. This organization designs, manufactures, and distributes various public safety equipment and total solutions for law enforcement and government agencies worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of functional, performance, and durability tests on prototype systems and components.
  • Record, organize, and manage test data, observations, and results with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Communicate test outcomes, technical issues, and prototype concerns clearly to design engineers, management, and cross-functional partners.
  • Measure components precisely using calipers, pin gauges, and other inspection and measurement tools.
  • Use high-speed video capture and other test equipment to evaluate prototype performance.
  • Fabricate and modify prototype parts using shop equipment and hand tools, including mills, lathes, Dremel tools, cutting tools, and files.
  • Support CNC machining, 3D printing, welding, soldering, and other fabrication activities as needed.
  • Operate and maintain 3D printers, including printing, post-processing, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of printed parts.
  • Prepare and assist in executing customer demonstrations and off-site testing/field testing of prototype systems.

Requirements

  • Experience assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and/or fabricating mechanical or electromechanical products.
  • Proficiency with common shop/lab tools, measuring instruments, and basic fabrication equipment.
  • Familiarity or exposure to 3D printing, CNC machining, soldering, and/or welding.
